    What is the SafeHire Certification Scheme?

    The SafeHire Certification Scheme is a private standard created by and written for the hire industry with the help and guidance of the BSi with support from the HSE. It is a mandatory requirement for all HAE EHA members to be engaged in the SafeHire Certification Scheme’ and is one of the many benefits you can reap from membership. Originally written by HAE, our members, the HSE and other corporate bodies, SafeHire endeavors to level the playing field between large and small hire organisations and enables the industry to compete on an even ground.

    By being SafeHire certified, your organisation can prove its commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism across all aspects of the business – from the shop floor to the documentation processes.

    How does SafeHire compare to the industry?

    SafeHire addresses elements of a multitude of standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, and elements of the Common Assessment Standard (CAS). More importantly, we pay careful attention to product inspection – both process wise and physically – which is something entirely unique within the industry.

    Aligned with international standards, SafeHire Certification is granted for a three-year period following successful completion of the initial audit. For the interim period, an annual site surveillance audit is carried out. The subsequent three-year renewal audit includes a significantly reduced desktop audit which focuses on the core elements of SafeHire.
