News Item: Dustcontrol UK Launches BREATHE.
A World Lung Day charity event set to bring 500 construction professionals together in Milton Keynes.
Dustcontrol UK, one of the UK’s leading dust extraction and control equipment specialists, has announced BREATHE. — a large-scale public awareness and charity event taking place at Willen Lake, Milton Keynes, on World Lung Day, Thursday 25th September 2026.
The event, which is free to attend, will bring together up to 500 professionals from the construction, manufacturing, and hire industries for a morning of community activity, industry solidarity, and genuine impact — raising funds for Asthma + Lung UK, the UK’s leading lung health charity.
Why BREATHE. Matters
Occupational lung disease remains one of the most significant and preventable health crises facing the UK’s construction and trades workforce. Around 11,000 people die every year in the UK from lung diseases directly linked to past workplace exposure — with construction workers accounting for a disproportionately high number of those deaths. Workers are regularly exposed to silica dust, wood dust, asbestos fibres, and other hazardous airborne particles on a daily basis.
Despite the technology existing to dramatically reduce exposure, a dangerous gap persists between what the science demands and what happens on site. BREATHE. is Dustcontrol UK’s most visible and ambitious response to that gap.
What’s Happening on the Day
The BREATHE. event at Willen Lake will include:
“BREATHE. is about the construction industry standing up and being counted on an issue that has taken too many of our people for too long. We are not just raising money — we are raising awareness, starting conversations, and hopefully changing the way our industry thinks about the air that workers breathe every single day. We would love to see as many people as possible join us at Willen Lake on 25th September.”
