IOSH Training Courses

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is a nationally recognised training awards body. IOSH training courses are widely used across the industry as health and safety training for anybody working in or looking to work in a supervisory or management role within the hire sector. HAE EHA has long been a supporter of IOSH training and through HireTrain has delivered several face to face classroom courses on the 1 day IOSH Working Safely and 4 day IOSH Managing Safely courses.

Time away from the office and arranging cover for people to attend training courses is often a barrier to attendance and HAE EHA are delighted to introduce IOSH Online, where members can complete the IOSH Working Safely and Managing Safely programmes via interactive eLearning.

Provided in conjunction with our delivery partner Human Focus, this online training offers an alternative to face to face training and has numerous benefits:

Lower cost

The e-learning fee is lower than the classroom equivalent

There are no travel expenses

Staff do not have to take time off during productive periods

More convenient

Trainees can undertake the course wherever and whenever they choose

Optimised for mobile devices – study anytime, anywhere

Interactive videos and virtual tutor to assist

Trainees learn at their own pace and in bite size sessions to suit their schedule

The courses are very practical, and aimed at staff working in all levels. The content contains thought-provoking facts and memorable case studies. The aim is to provide practical health and safety knowledge that can be applied by the trainee in their day-to-day operations.

IOSH Working Safely

Course Plan:-

5 modules delivered via interactive video sessions. These all include end of session tests to check trainee learning and progress.

Modules include:-

Introducing health and safety

Defining hazard and risk

Identifying common hazards

Improving safety performance

Protecting the environment

End of course theory test

Delivered via a 20 question multiple choice test.

Practical project hazard spotting exercise

Each trainee completes a hazard spotting project. This is submitted to Human Focus for marking.

Course Agenda:

8 hours of study (approx.)

6 month completion period

2 attempts at end test

2 weeks to complete practical

Programme: £40 plus VAT
IOSH Registration fee: £25 plus VAT

TOTAL: £65 plus VAT

IOSH Managing Safely

Course Plan:-

8 modules delivered via interactive video sessions. These all include end of session tests to check trainee learning and progress.

Modules include:-

Introduction to managing safely

Undertaking risk assessments

How to control risks

Understanding your managerial responsibilities

Identifying hazards

Investigating accidents and incidents

Measuring safety performance

Principles of environmental protection and control

End of course theory test

Delivered via a 30 question multiple choice test.

Practical project hazard spotting exercise

Each trainee completes a hazard spotting project. This is submitted to Human Focus for marking.

Course Agenda:

12 hours of study (approx.)

6 month completion period

2 attempts at end test

2 weeks to complete practical

Programme: £225 plus VAT
IOSH Registration fee: £25 plus VAT

TOTAL: £250 plus VAT

IOSH Managing Safely Online Refresher courses are also available to members for £175 plus VAT (£150 plus VAT for the programme and £25 plus VAT IOSH Registration fee).
