Course Overview
Qualify your new recruit or develop staff to the role of Plant and Equipment Maintenance Technician
This programme is aimed at workers in the role of Plant Maintenance Operative or Technician. Delegates attend a 9-week modular training programme delivered in block release over 18 months, and are awarded a ProQual Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Maintenance (Construction).
The training focuses on both practical maintenance skills on hire fleet equipment and theoretical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and non-mechanical systems. Learners receive additional support through the QualsDirect system and Cademy eLearning resources, helping them consolidate knowledge and track their qualification progress.

Programme Content

Programme Delivery – Block Release Format
Training is delivered at a dedicated facility in Penybont, Shropshire. Each training week starts at 12:30 on Day 1 and finishes at 12:30 on Day 5, providing four full days of contact time. Accommodation is provided for learners across the UK.
We aim to have a September and April start each year, see above for upcoming dates.

Programme Costs
The full programme costs £2,000 plus VAT*, invoiced in three instalments, and includes all the training, induction and on-site NVQ assessment required to complete the qualification.
CITB-registered companies can claim grant which would cost down to zero (before VAT), assuming delegates attend in full and achieve the NVQ.
* Pricing is for the pilot programme and may be subject to change on future intakes
CITB Grants and Funding Explained
CITB-registered companies have access to this programme with the following grant and subsidies:
£1,400 claimed during training (subject to full attendance)
HAE will claim this directly through the CITB portal on your behalf and payment will be made into your CITB account
£600 Achievement Grant (claimed upon completion)
HAE will provide instructions and a copy of the NVQ certificate
HAE also receives £7,000 in specialist skills funding from CITB to help reduce programme costs
