News Item: Sam’s New Accountancy Role Keeps Him Busy with POP UP Products
When 23-year-old accountancy recruit, Sam O’Brien, joined access equipment developer, POP UP Products, he had a feeling he wouldn’t just be dealing with balance sheets.
And he was right. Sam’s new role as assistant management accountant has seen him get involved in the company’s Net Zero campaign, developing dashboards for sales staff as well as weekly reports for directors on credit control and cash flow.
“I’m enjoying every moment of it,” said Sam who originally started his training with an NHS accountancy apprenticeship.
He worked his way up the accountancy ladder before taking on the assistant management accountant role with POP UP Products earlier in the year.
Sam will continue his training with POP UP Products initially taking Association of Accounting Technicians exams and moving on to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants qualifications.
Sam, who comes from the Wirral, said he was looking forward to the future.
“I’m very much given the freedom to research and develop new systems and get involved in new projects. I really feel I’m part of the team,” he said.
He has already proved his worth as part of the company golf team.
“I’m a very keen golfer. I did qualify for the European Open when I was a junior and won the Junior Masters at Sandiways so I really enjoy joining my colleagues on the golf course,” he said.
