News Item: Inspiring Careers in Hire in Plant Hire Week

European Rental Week, known in the UK and Ireland as Plant Hire Week runs from Monday 13th until Sunday 19th October. It’s an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the diverse and rewarding career paths available within the hire sector.

The industry is about much more than equipment. It’s about people, expertise, and a commitment to supporting construction, events, and infrastructure across the country and beyond. From entry-level positions to specialist technical roles, customer service, logistics, and senior management, the hire sector offers a career route for everyone, with genuine opportunities to progress and grow.

What makes hire unique is the focus on skills development. Training, apprenticeships, and continuous professional development are embedded across the industry, ensuring that individuals have the opportunity to learn, adapt, and advance throughout their careers.

If you’re interested in joining the hire industry you can explore current job opportunities here, and get a taste of what the sector is like through our e-learning course. This course is a great way to understand the industry, its roles, and how it works before taking the next step.

HAE CEO Paul Gaze said, “Now in its third year, European Rental Week is run by the European Rental Association. As a proud member of the ERA we see this initiative as a fantastic opportunity for organisations to promote the hire sector as an exciting one to be part of, and grow your career.

“At HAE, we are proud to support European Rental Week and Plant Hire Week, and to promote the benefits of working in this thriving sector.”
