Hire Desk Controller New Entrant Training Programme

This programme is aimed at workers in the role of Hire Desk Operative or Hire Controller. Delegates attend a 5-week modular training programme, an on-site assessment, and are awarded a Level 2 National Vocational Qualification (NVQ). The training focusses on sales and customer service techniques, as well as practical sessions on safe use and awareness on a wide range of tools and equipment. 

Our new entrant programme is part of the CITB suite of Specialist Applied-skills Programmes (SAP), as such learners receive additional support from CITB Apprentice Officers throughout the programme. 

Programme Duration
18 months

Aimed at
New or recent recruits to the Hire Desk controller role or for development of internal staff

25 days off-the-job training delivered in 5 one-week modules, spread across the first 12 months. Delegates then concentrate on building a portfolio of evidence ahead of their NVQ assessment, and completion by month 18.

Cost (for CITB registered employers)
CITB in scope levy registered employers pay £1600 plus VAT, but will receive a short duration training grant of £550, which is claimed during the training period, and a VQ achievement grant of £600 claimed upon successful award of the qualification. This makes the overall nett cost £450.

In addition, HAE EHA will cover the costs for hotel stays up to 25 nights (booked by our team). Delegates and/or employers will be responsible for covering travel and meal costs where applicable.

Invoicing - £1600 charged in two instalments as follows:

Schedule Charge   
Before Programme Starts £850 plus VAT
Month 12 (for start of assessment - Month 13)    £750 plus VAT

Cost (for non-CITB registered employers)

The overall cost will be £5600 plus VAT, taken in several instalments throughout the programme (a schedule of payments can be provided on request).
