Theft and fraud in the plant, tool and event hire industries is a problem that isn't going away but if your business is a victim of this crime there are a number of things you can do:

  1. Report the crime to the Police – Please report the incident as soon as possible to the local police and obtain a crime reference number and have the full description and serial numbers of the items to hand.
  2. Share Information - By offering other hirers a heads up on thieves or fraudsters operating in your area is a way to make it more difficult for them to carry out further acts and to help you possibly recover any stolen equipment. Email  CrimeAssistance@hae.org.uk and we will do the rest.
  3. Report the incident to PANIU (Plant and Agricultural National Intelligence Unit) –  PANIU work with the MET Police to recover stolen items and assist police with tackling organised crime networks around the UK.  To report a crime to PANIU please have the Police Crime Reference, the full description and serial numbers available.
  4. Complete the PANIU Notification Form (Download here) and forward to:

A self-contained decontamination trailer was stolen from a premises in Hoyland, Barnsley between 5.30pm Tuesday 28th August and 8:00am Wednesday 29th August. The trailer was a special build for Envirogard's hire fleet and is readily identifiable by its appearance, design, and equipment.

It carries the Envirogard fleet No. H274 on the front and rear of the trailer body; the manufacturers serial number "3E8763" is welded into the chassis, as well as being shown on the drawbar data plate.

Please see images attached of a similar trailer. This trailer is readily identified by the hatch located on the offside rear corner of the trailer. The trailer is equipped with a silenced fully-integrated LPG push-button start Dometic generator fitted in the locker behind the hatch; the generator control panel is located in the Clean compartment.

The locker door has a distinctive louvered vent. Once the locker door is opened the integral generator is visible and has a grey steel cover, bearing the label Dometic Traveller 2500.

On the angled corner of the near side is the gas locker carrying a 13kg propane cylinder.

In the "Clean Compartment" a stack of white lockers for personal belongings is fitted below the wall mounted Chaffoteaux Britony IIT water heater. Between the boiler and the clean-end door there is a stainless steel sink fitted above the gas bottle.

Seating runs along the offside of the compartment. There is a wall mounted space heater, and an electrical consumer unit is mounted at high level on the offside of this compartment.

The shower compartment has a bright blue floor, with water tank on the offside with a black inspection cover on top.

An Aqualisa thermostatic shower valve with riser is fitted on the wall, and a second one is fitted on the nearside over a stainless steel handwash sink.

The "Dirty Compartment" is equipped with an Envirovac Extract Unit, colour yellow and black, fitted under the offside bench. This is yellow and black in colour and bears the manufacturers serial number: "Enviro-vac Model Decom 51 240v".

A heated towel rail is fitted on the rear wall of the compartment. The flooring in the clean and dirty compartments is vinyl; the flooring in the shower is GRP.

A pumped waste-filtration system was also taken. This has a standard 10" cartridge filter, a black carry handle and predominantly grey steel body, with ancillary piping. It carries the fleet number: 3963

There is a reward for information leading to the recovery of this equipment and prosecution of those responsible for its theft.
