Course Overview


This programme will deliver the knowledge and skills to individuals that wish to become Mental Health First Aiders. The course will train delegates to identify signs of poor mental health in the workplace, give them the self-assurance to start conversations and provide the right types of support for those affected.

Successful delegates will achieve a three-year certification and have access to benefits and resources from MHFA England, also for three years.

Programme Content and Benefits


The course can be delivered online or on-site and is split into four sessions, each one lasting approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. The session content breaks down as follows:

  1. Introduction to Mental Health First Aid, self-care, the Frame of Reference, ALGEE  and Stress Container processes
  2. The Mental Health Continuum, anxiety, traumatic events, panic attacks, eating disorders and self-harm
  3. Depression, suicide and psychosis
  4. Recovery, applying ALGEE and conversation practice
  5. All learners will be sent learning materials for the online sessions in the post, and have access to resources from MHFA England.

    Delegates that complete the programme will be offered ongoing learning opportunities, receive invitations to exclusive events, and will become part of the largest Mental Health First Aid community in England.

    Programme Costs


    The cost is £235 plus VAT per person.
