News Item: HireTrain Developing the Hire Workforce with Support from CITB

HireTrain has developed a career path that supports people joining and developing their professions in the hire and rental sectors. From one-day courses to vocational qualifications and degree-level programmes, all of which can be found along this path.

With CITB’s support over the last 12 months members have claimed more than £50,000 in training grants for programmes delivered via HireTrain.

In addition, HireTrain has been working closely with CITB to deliver the Employer Network Pilot, a 12-month initiative that aims to simplify the process of accessing support and funding for training for the hire and rental employers. A wide range of courses are available and recent programmes that have been delivered include:

  • Loading and Unloading of Plant (small and large)
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Service Technician Training
  • Electrical Testing (PAT)
  • First Aid, delivered by British Red Cross (discount available for non-CITB registered members)
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Nikki Wyllie, HAE EHA’s Learning and Development Officer said, “The Employer Network Pilot is a great opportunity for members to engage and secure the training they need within their business.”

Members not registered with CITB, those in the events sector or suppliers, can still benefit from the work of HireTrain. Whilst they will not receive grant support, they do have access to relevant courses and HAE EHA’s buying power means discounted training taking place more regularly at competitive rates.
