I have been involved with the rental industry since 1987 starting life in a hire depot working on the hire desk, I left working for hire companies as a regional manager after 13 years to work for inspHire, the leading rental software provider in the UK and have been here ever since. After starting with the company in 2000 as a project manager implementing systems to hire companies throughout Europe I became the operations director responsible for Support and the implementation team moving to sales in 2005 as Sales Director. I was appointed Managing Director in 2009 and have enjoyed guiding the business through double digit growth year on year since and long may it continue. I enjoy working in the Hire industry and have helped with the Hire Association Europe, I was elected to the Board of the HAE in 2008 and continue to contribute to the association.

I wish to continue my work with the HAE as I want to be the best I can possibly be but more importantly I want the Association to be the best it can possibly be. The Hire industry has been good to me and I hope I can go some way to pay that back by giving time, knowledge and experience back to the industry. I have a customer first approach outlook on business and treat suppliers and customers the same. As a supplier I want to serve the Hire companies as best I can.

A committed and passionate industry professional, Phil Winnington is currently International Business Director of leading UK manufacturer and supplier to the global hire industry, Morris Site Machinery. Phil brings with him over 20 years’ experience of supporting and supplying the UK and international rental Industry in its entirety, with considerable research, sales and marketing experience and Director accountabilities. Phil is focused on supporting and supplying the Hire industry through exciting NPD and innovation which challenges convention; a commitment to nurturing skills and training development for all; and above all a passion for driving quality throughout the supply chain and enhancing industry standards to keep the British hire industry at the forefront.

We are operating in demanding times, and Phil’s philosophy of driving change through continuous improvement ensures that businesses, and the industry, grow and adapt to its changing environment in a stimulating and rewarding way.

I have been closely involved with the Hire Industry for over 20 years as a supplier of fuels, and understand the demands of the industry from a supply perspective very well; in my new role as Arcotherm’s Product Development Manager I will be responsible for the growth of UK, European and Global markets - a role that will bring new supply chain challenges.

I would welcome the opportunity to become a member of the Supply Chain Board and feel that the experience and skill sets I have accumulated over many years will stand me in good stead to become an active and valuable member of the HAE.

On a personal level, I am married with two grown-up sons; I live in Cheshire and enjoy cycling and walking.
