Plant Hire Week is part of European Rental Week, organised by the European Rental Association (ERA)
Plant Hire Week takes place in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The event is in its fourth year and in 2026 the theme is:
Sustainability, People & Skills, Business Value of Rental
The campaign provides an opportunity for rental companies and associations to strengthen their voice and impact by coordinating their promotional activities in order to, improve the attractiveness of the industry, raise awareness of the rental concept and promote rental as a sustainable, cost-effective and resource-efficient solution.
HAE is part of ERA and as such will support European Rental Week with campaigning and activities that champion these values. For our part the focus will be on people development and careers in the hire industry, a sector with an ever-widening skills gap and pressing need for fresh recruits and talent.
HAE EHA Learning and Development Officer Nikki Wyllie has some words of encouragement for potential hire sector recruits: “The hire sector is a brilliant place to build a career. It’s practical, varied and full of opportunities to learn new skills, meet people and progress.
“There’s much more to the industry than you might think, and you don’t have to come from a hire background to get started.”
