News Item: Mark One Hire Celebrates 45 Years with a Major Community Pledge for Essex

Mark One Hire, Essex’s long-standing provider of both equipment hire and specialist safety training, has announced a landmark initiative to mark its 45th anniversary: “The 45 for 45 Community Commitment.”

The pledge is simple but powerful. Throughout 2026, Mark One will deliver 45 fully supported community projects, each one combining the company’s two core strengths — professional equipment hire and expert training — to help empower local groups, charities, and not-for-profit organisations.

Alan Ball, Director at Mark One Hire said: “Mark One Hire have been part of the community in Essex for 45 Years this year. The business has grown from the corner of a local Ironmongers in Hockley to having 4 Hire Centres across Essex along with specialist centres focussed on Powered Access, Plant Hire and Training.

“The 45 for 45 community commitments are our way of giving back to the community we call home.”

Whether it’s revitalising a community garden with the help of a mini-digger, supporting a village hall restoration with power tools, or providing pressure-washing equipment for a neighbourhood clean-up, each act is designed to give Essex communities both the tools and the confidence to make their projects a success.

A Year of Impact for Essex
The initiative has officially launched to the public and community groups have been invited to submit applications for support. Throughout the year, Mark One will release regular “Project Spotlight” stories showcasing the positive changes unfolding across the county.

The campaign will culminate in a special Community Thank You Event at their brand new Hire Centre along the A127 near Laindon, and the publication of an Impact Report highlighting the achievements of all 45 projects and the collective difference made to Essex’s communities.
