News Item: Plant Industry Called Upon to Support Children in Poverty This Christmas

The Plant & Hire Aid Alliance has teamed up with the national charity, Kids in Mind, and Rotary International to invite companies and individuals to bring joy to even more children who are facing unimaginable hardship, this coming festive season. It’s called Project Angel.

Last Christmas they, along with volunteers from HAE and numerous equipment hire companies, combined their efforts and provided over 35,000 toys to children who were seriously affected by the on-going conflict in Ukraine. They also contributed over 3,500 toy boxes (each containing 8 brand new toys) to children in the UK who have been rehomed to the safety of a women’s refuge, to escape serious domestic violence.

All of these children have been forced to flee their homes, often with nothing but the clothes on their back. Without Project Angel, most of these children will not receive a gift this Christmas.

What companies can do to help

  • put the tags on your office Christmas tree or at reception and encourage your team to take one
  • donors then have a choice to buy a physical present themselves and place it under your tree, or buy from the Project Angel Amazon Wishlist
  • better still, use the QR code on the Angel Tag that links to the online Shop*
  • with the physical presents the Alliance will arrange an agreed collection date or ask you to drop them off to one of their collection points
  • * Further details about the Project Angel online shop can be found in this flyer.

This year the Plant & Hire Aid Alliance is aiming to donate 100,000 Christmas presents, and 35 companies have so far signed up to help.
