PRESS RELEASE: Ray Caulfield Wins The Lifetime Achievement Award
Rental industry stalwart, Ray Caulfield is celebrating winning the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 European Rental Awards.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a candidate that has, in the opinion of the judges, made a major contribution to the European rental industry throughout their career.
Ray (69) began his career many years ago as an apprentice fitter for an international contractor. Over time Ray has held several senior management positions, with suppliers to the industry and as a regional director with a leading UK rental organisation. He currently holds the position as CEO with the leading lighting tower manufacturer, Trime spa.
The judges said: “Ray Caulfield is a true veteran of the equipment rental industry, with a career spanning 52 years. In that time he has played a significant part in many aspects of rental – product development, rental sales training, the creation of environmentally friendly products. Just as important, our winner has always conducted himself with good humour and humility.”
Away from work, Ray’s charitable contributions have not gone unrecognised. In 2013 he was granted Freedom of the City of London receiving his Certificate from the Lord Chamberlain. The granting of the Freedom of the City of London is one of the oldest surviving traditional ceremonies still in existence today, having been inaugurated in 1237.Ray has helped to raise in excess of £300,000 for the Nordoff Robbins charity which, through music therapy, improves dramatically the lives of children born with brain and mental disorders
Commenting on winning this award, Ray said, “I am absolutely delighted to be given this award, I have worked alongside some very talented people throughout the years and seen most of them bring success to their own careers. To be formally recognised by the industry is both gratifying and humbling.”
European Rental Awards dinner was held on 3rd May at the Amsterdam RAI exhibition centre. The dinner took place during the European Rental Association’s annual convention and coincided with the International Rental Exhibition (IRE) and the APEX aerial platform show.
