The UK’s leading provider of motor accessory essentials, vGroup International, has restructured following rapid growth as the company moves into the next phase of expansion.
Simultaneously, one of the UK fleet industry’s best-known personalities, Mike Wise, has assumed a board-level role at the fast-growing business to implement a complete sales restructure.
vGroup International’s rapid growth coupled with a desire to provide further enhanced support to customers across the business in a rapidly changing vehicle market has resulted in the creation of three autonomous divisions.
Each division has its own specialist teams and online platform to deliver exceptional customer service and experience across the diverse sectors through which the business operates.
Below holding company VGI Holdings are: vGroup International, which includes vLease servicing the contract hire and leasing sector, mobile accessory fitment service vComms, and dealer, vehicle manufacturer and export market sectors; retail division P1 Limited; and Middleton Manufacturing, which manufactures car mats and other vehicle accessories.
Additionally, Mr Wise’s brief, having assumed the role of Group sales director, includes responsibility for overseeing the practical and strategic integration into vGroup International of two recent acquisitions - Cosmos Motor Accessories and Middleton Manufacturing.
Mr Wise, in a 37-year automotive industry career, has held senior roles in a number of organisations, particularly companies operating in the fleet sector notably as director at technology solutions provider epyx, head of Kwik Fit’s fleet division and managing director of ATS Euromaster. More recently he has been working with industry colleagues to develop online platforms in various market sectors.
Since the beginning of October 2017, Mr Wise has been working in tandem with vGroup International sales and customer service director Vicky Arnold, who leaves the company on December 22, 2017. Ms Arnold, who joined vGroup International 15 years ago and was promoted via a number of sales roles to sales and customer service director, a post she has held for three years, is leaving to take up a new role within the automotive industry in January 2018.
Ms Arnold said: “Mike is focused on fully restructuring the three divisions. He is in a great position to continue the further development of the business and ready to launch more vGroup market-changing initiatives, particularly in relation to vGroup’s easy to use vLink online ordering platform, partner programmes and integrated platforms.”
Martyn Nash, vGroup International CEO who launched the company in 1992, said: “I have worked with Vicky very closely together for 15 years and seen her preside over a threefold increase in turnover in the last eight years, which has given vGroup new challenges and opportunities. Vicky has been a credit to vGroup and I wish her well in her future career.”
Ms Arnold added: “I have grown and developed with vGroup and I am grateful to Martyn as a mentor which has enabled me to gain the skills to take on an extremely challenging corporate role, something I recognised I needed too. I will be looking from my new role back at vGroup and its customers with affection.”
Mr Wise, who reports to vGroup International managing director James Nash, said: “The company is continuing to expand its share of the motor accessories market, notably in the fleet sector where it has strong business partnerships with many of the UK’s major contract hire and leasing companies, vehicle leasing brokers and outright purchase fleets.
“Meanwhile, the recent acquisitions deliver new challenges, which include integrating the two businesses into vGroup International, while also seeking to examine the OEM potential for introducing production line fitting.
“I am using my experience and marketplace knowledge as the company gears up for a new phase of growth in 2018 and beyond.”
Mr Wise added: “Vicky leaves a strong legacy and I am assuming her responsibilities ahead of the company making further announcements early in 2018 in respect of structural changes and new appointments.”
James Nash said: “Mike’s marketplace knowledge and business experience will enable the company to implement its strategy as it continues to expand. The market is changing both in the way cars are purchased and the way they are operated, and our new divisions and respective teams must be focused on the future.
“We wish Vicky every success in the future and thank her for her professionalism and dedication, which have been instrumental in the growth of vGroup International over the past 15 years.”
