PRESS RELEASE: GAP's Bridgwater Depot Powers Ahead
GAP Hire Solutions is already reaping the rewards of their new depot in South Bridgwater, Somerset. The strategically placed location which opened for business in October 2017, is ideally situated just off junction 24 on the M5 providing access to Somerset and the ongoing construction at Hinkley Point.
GAP’s Bridgwater depot not only provides coverage in the areas between GAP’s Bristol and Exeter depots for small tools, accessories and plant equipment up to and including 3-tonne machines, customers can also benefit from GAP’s multi-service offering.
GAP’s South West Regional Director Andrew Feltham explained: “We are committed to adding value in the area by offering customers a wide selection of industry leading hire equipment. Our core range of kit is available for same day delivery and collection, and our team at Bridgwater provide a full hire solution by utilising GAP’s other divisions.”
Traditionally a plant & tool hirer, GAP has focused on developing its specialist divisions in recent years which include Non-Mechanical Plant, Lifting Hire & Sales, Survey & Safety Hire, Welfare Services, London Tools & Access, Vehicle Hire and Event Services. The family owned and run business, which employs over 1,700 people, now has over 130 locations throughout the UK.
Andrew Feltham continued: “Our customers appreciate the convenience of picking up the phone and being able to order a diverse range of equipment such as glass & materials lifts, trench boxes and Welfare Units along with their small plant and tool requirements. Whatever our customers want, our Bridgwater depot provides one point of contact to deal with all their enquiries.”
GAP is the market leader in their level of capital investment in new equipment relative to turnover meaning the company boasts one of the youngest and most comprehensive fleets in the industry.
David Doe, GAP’s Regional Sales Manager - South West commented: “The first three months since Bridgwater opened its doors have gone to plan; it’s good to see hire revenue at the level we expected it to be given the investment in the 0.6-acre site. Being able to supply safe and reliable equipment quickly is a fundamental requirement for our customers, as is providing a full back-up service near their sites.
“As a supplier to Hinkley Point, it’s been good to hear positive feedback from sub-contractors in relation to the quality of our equipment and customer service levels. We look forward to continuing to support one of Europe’s largest construction sites as well as forging strong relationships with local companies who operate in Somerset and the surrounding towns and villages.
