PRESS RELEASE: Gap Lights Up With Trime X Eco Following Hewdens Administration
GAP Group Ltd has announced the purchase of 130 new X ECO Lighting Towers from Trime formerly allocated to Hewden.
Following Hewden entering administration on 22 November 2016, an agreement was reached between the Joint Administrators (S J Woodward and C P Dempster) and Trime in relation to the lighting towers. Trime has in turn reached a separate agreement with GAP, who has now purchased the 130 X ECO Lighting Towers. GAP has mobilised their team to confirm handover with all relevant sites, customers and previous Hewden depots.
GAP has received written confirmation from Ernst & Young and Trime, detailing that the Administrators do not contend that the Company has title to the X ECO Lighting Towers and that they have no objection to them being collected by GAP, or for companies to reach an agreement with GAP to continue the hire.
GAP were the first national hire provider to have invested in the “new generation” lighting towers from Trime. Following site trials with their major customers who were impressed with both the increased efficiency and significant cost savings achieved with them, GAP has now expanded their fleet to 400, the largest in the UK.
The new model sees the inclusion of LED lamps, which offer a number of benefits. Prime amongst these is that there are no bulbs, lamp glass, ballasts or capacitors – all of which often need replaced on-site, taking up valuable time. By taking away this inconvenience, call out costs are reduced and on-site efficiency is improved. Furthermore, thanks to the system’s automated start/stop technology, man hours are significantly reduced throughout the course of a project.
The LED floodlight is guaranteed for a staggering 50,000 hours, meaning sites will never find themselves being left in the dark on their jobs.
