PRESS RELEASE: GAP is Shortlisted for the Construction New Specialists Awards 2018
GAP is shortlisted for the Construction News Specialists Awards 2018
GAP Hire Solutions has been selected by the judges as a finalist in the Equipment Supplier of the Year category of the 2018 Construction News Specialists Awards, the only national awards that recognises the best specialist contractors from across the UK.
To decide the winners, all finalists will attend face-to-face judging by a panel made up from the UK’s largest construction firms and the leaders of the county’s major projects, including:
- Cormac MacCrann, Managing Director, Canary Wharf Contractors
- Dale Turner, Director of Procurement and Supply Chain, Skanska UK
- Lucy Homer, Executive General Manager, Design and Technical, Lendlease
- Peter Fisher, SHE Director, Costain
The judges are looking for companies that can demonstrate what makes them outstanding to work with, and that are committed to providing the best equipment innovations available.
The nomination follows a record-breaking year for GAP. The UK’s leading independent equipment hirer achieved annual turnover (2016-2017) of £175 million, a 10% increase on the previous year’s £158 million. Gross profit for the period reached £17.1m. Since the start of April 2017, annualised turnover was up about another 10% on the previous year.
Construction News editor Tom Fitzpatrick said: “Specialists are continuing to up their game in difficult economic circumstances. Our expert judges have now shortlisted the companies who represent the best of the people, initiatives and projects in the construction industry supply chain.
CN (Construction News) will be publishing features on each of the shortlisted entrants in the coming weeks and best of luck to all involved as they now go to the second stage of presenting their work face-to-face with our judges.”
GAP’s Joint Managing Director Douglas Anderson commented: “Being shortlisted from the hundreds of entrants in the prestigious CN Specialist Awards is a fantastic achievement and distinguishes GAP from our competitors.
“The nomination acknowledges the comprehensive range of innovative equipment that we offer our customers and the sustained efforts and commitment of everybody in the business. We look forward to presenting our case to the judges next year.”
The winners will be announced on 8th March 2018 at a glamorous ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, where over 1,000 of the biggest names in the construction industry will join together for a night of entertainment, celebration and networking.
