Sunbelt Rentals is taking strides towards a sustainable future by promoting Christian Spence to Head of Green Technology and Matthew O'Hara to Head of Sales for Clean Energy. Christian will be responsible for leading the direction in developing market-leading energy solutions, while Matthew will focus on increasing awareness of green technology and decreasing carbon emissions for customers. Through these promotions, Sunbelt Rentals is demonstrating their dedication to sustainability and setting a new standard for sustainable energy practices for their customers, partners, and suppliers.
Christian Spence, who joined the company in 2020 as a Sustainable Energy Manager and promoted to Head of Clean Energy in 2022, has been a driving force behind some of its most innovative projects. He supported the design one of the largest private EV charging networks, implemented a large energy storage solution to support customers' high-load profile applications, and challenged how clean energy solutions can be strategically placed. His promotion is a strategic move to demonstrate the company's direction with clean, low-carbon energy solutions.
Sunbelt Rentals' sustainability strategy, Our Planet, is their action plan to transform lives and lead positive change towards a greener climate. They're committed to achieving this through investing in new green technology and innovating solutions that reduce carbon footprints to promoting energy efficiency, and business confidence to adopt green technology. With Christian in his new role, the business aims to introduce cutting-edge renewable energy production solutions and low-carbon green technology that address these commitments.
Christian, speaking about his recent promotion, said: "I'm delighted to have been given this promotion to lead the business's green technology strategic direction. This allows us to dedicate the necessary time to carry out all diligence, understanding, research, testing, and modelling to ensure green technology adoption is successful. Going forward, I'm looking forward to exploring the future of low-carbon emerging green technologies and markets across all our product lines, including hydrogen, energy storage, second-life solutions, green power generation and renewable energy production solutions.
Christian's vision goes beyond the introduction of new technology. He aims to create a culture of innovation and environmental awareness within the company, giving all employees the confidence to consider the adoption of green technology.
As the Head of Sales for Clean Energy, Matthew has the goal of growing awareness and amplifying accessibility of environmentally friendly energy solutions to a wider customer base.
With sustainability at the heart of its operations, Sunbelt Rentals is committed to engaging and connecting with customers and partners to collectively reduce their carbon footprint. Matthew's promotion is intended to extend the reach of these solutions and services to a wider customer base, while demonstrating how green technology can help them achieve their sustainability targets in a commercially viable way.
Matthew, talking about the next step of his career, added: "I'm looking forward to this new role of providing customers with information and advice about clean energy. My goal is to continue engaging with and educating customers on alternative energy solutions, including battery technology, alternative fuels, solar, and hydrogen power, and fundamentally change the mindset of a generator-only approach to temporary power."
