News Item: Southampton International Boat Show 2021 Will Be the Biggest Ever

It has been confirmed that the Southampton International Boat Show will run between Friday the 10th and Sunday the 19th September 2021, and will be larger than ever before.

This year, following the Prime Minister’s roadmap announcements, meaning the show could go ahead safely, organiser British Marine worked in partnership with Southampton City Council to secure some additional land. This is very positive news for the UK events sector.

Already held on Europe’s largest purpose-built marina, the extra space will mean room for some revitalising changes. To begin with, a new show entrance and a festival area will be created outside Southampton’s WestQuay shopping centre.

The revised layout will also mean the creation of some new exhibition zones focussed on areas of specific interest including:

  • paddle boards, kite surfers, kayaks and windsurfers
  • dinghies and high-performance sailing
  • a classic boat & day boat zone aimed at celebrating enduring craftsmanship
  • power and sail boats, and equipment on show throughout the marina and Mayflower Park

The 52nd Southampton International Boat Show, will have a packed timetable of events and on-the-water experiences for visitors to engage with, as well as guest speakers, live music and a range of entertainment.

At all times British Marine will work with partners to ensure the show operates safely and that any required Covid-19 safety measures are fully incorporated.

The boat show, an important fixture in the calendar for Southampton City Council, was cancelled in 2020 so organisers, cabinet members and local residents are extremely pleased to see it return this year. Every effort will be made to keep the event enjoyable, but the health and safety of all participants will remain a number one priority.
