News Item: HAE EHA Respond to HM Treasury on Red Diesel Proposals

HAE EHA has now responded to the HM Treasury consultation on proposals announced in the Budget 2020 to remove red diesel from use in construction activity from April 2022.

While supporting the environment, the proposals will inflate costs and present major difficulties for the sector and across construction, alongside some aspects of the events industry. HAE EHA have refuted the argument that the current rebated duty on red diesel acts as a barrier to innovation and argue that there is a gap in the availability of non-diesel, greener alternatives across the hire inventory.
