HAE EHA reminds members that the 2021 Census will be carried out across England, Wales and Northern Ireland on Sunday 21st March 2021.
The census is a survey that is carried out on one day every 10 years and provides a snapshot of life and information about the current population. It counts all of the people and households in an area, capturing information including; age, race, occupation, and relationship status.
Every householder must answer the questions, either for everyone they live with, or every individual answers for themselves. This year, organisers are asking people to fill out the census online (using an access code that should have been sent to every household in the post). It is a legal requirement to complete the census and you can be fined up to £1,000 for not doing so, or giving false information.
The census should be submitted on Sunday 21st March 2021, or as soon as possible afterwards.
Please note that the census is not taking place in Scotland, due to restrictions around Covid-19. The Scottish census will take place in March 2022.
