News Item: DWP Supporting International Day of Persons with Disabilities

This year, the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is on Thursday 3rd December. Introduced in 1992, the IDPD aims to promote the rights and well-being of disabled people across society. This year’s theme is ‘Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post Covid-19 world’.

The day brings events and activities, including a Disability Confident webinar and the #PurpleLightUp campaign, aimed to raise awareness of the contribution disabled employees can make in society, to download the campaign resources, click here. Alongside supporting IDPD, the DWP have launched revised Disability Confident/CIPD guides for employers. To view these, click here or alternatively, find out more information.
