Following the resignation of more than 50 members of the UK Government, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has stepped down as leader of the Tory party, but remains caretaker Prime Minister until a new leader is elected in the Autumn.
There is growing pressure for another senior minister to act as caretaker Prime Minister and it is likely a confidence vote will be held in Parliament. Further announcements may be made over the next few days.
With the Queen's approval, the various Cabinet vacancies have been filled but most junior ministerial roles remain vacant. Details of the new appointments can be found here.
