Terms and Conditions

For a hire or rental company to develop its own contract terms and conditions can involve large sums of money and take a great deal of time. Association members can use our Standard Terms and Conditions of Hire completely free of charge, and they are available to download in seconds in our Members’ Area.

These Standard Terms and Conditions can be incorporated into hire contracts, quotations, orders and hire catalogues. They have been tailored to best suit the needs of our members, and are currently available in three versions:

• “Business” – for those companies who mainly contract with other businesses,
• “Consumer” – for companies that predominantly hire to domestic users, and
• “Blended” – designed for those who hire to both business and domestic users.

The Association regularly reviews its Standard Terms and Conditions and they are produced in collaboration with our corporate legal advisors.

There are also guidance notes available to help members select the most suitable terms and conditions for their use, and advice on maximising the protection they offer to members.
