New Chair being recruited for CITB, plus other changes
We’ve been keeping a watch on recent announcements concerning CITB following the Levy Consensus. Earlier in November, the government published the final report into Industry Training Boards. This set out further steps required by CITB to continue reform, streamline processes and reduce the span of its activities. The Department for Education (which sponsors CITB and the skills agenda) has begun recruiting for a new CITB Board Chair - details can be found at; https://publicappointments.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/appointment/chair-of-the-construction-industry-training-board-citb/
Another set of recommendations relate to participation by SMEs and micro-businesses: an additional CITB Board member representing SMEs will be recruited - more details are expected in December. There are also governance changes being proposed for the CITB Council and more information will be available over the next few months.
