GAP Hire Solutions, the UK’s leading independent equipment hirer, has announced the opening of their new depot in Lewes, near Brighton.
Formerly a Hewden depot, the site in Malling Brooks Industrial Estate will remain open after being acquired by the GAP Group. The news follows last month’s announcement that Hewden had fallen into administration.
The new depot takes the number of depots in GAP’s London & South East region to 29 with almost 300 employees, all offering industry leading equipment and customer service. GAP has over 130 depots across the UK as a whole.
Douglas Anderson, Joint Managing Director of GAP commented: “We are delighted to be strengthening our presence in the South East. The investment is consistent with the company’s strategy of growing the business organically and through acquisition. The site improves our customer service capability in the region and is fully equipped with the most innovative plant and tool hire equipment in the industry. It’s fantastic we can safeguard jobs in the area, especially in the run-up to Christmas.”
Specialising in plant and tool hire used in industrial, construction and engineering projects, customers can choose from an extensive product range including excavators, compressors, dumpers, ride-on rollers, generators and a wide selection of small tools.
GAP’s Brighton Plant & Tools customers can also benefit from the backing of GAP’s other divisions: London Tools & Access, Lifting Hire & Sales, Non-Mechanical Plant, Welfare Services, Event Services, Survey & Safety Hire and Vehicle Hire.
Douglas continued: “GAP offers customers a one-stop shop for hire solutions. As the demand for our business continues to grow, we are delighted with the addition of our new Brighton depot. We look forward to welcoming GAP customers both old and new”.
