PRESS RELEASE: AFI Gains FORS Gold Reaccreditation
AFI has achieved Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Gold certification for the third consecutive year for its good working practices in the way it operates its machine delivery and service van fleets.
The FORS scheme has been set up toraise the level of quality within fleet operations and to demonstrate which operations are accomplishing the highest standards in London and the UK.
AFI Director Nick Higgins said: “Gaining FORS Gold reaccreditation for three consecutive years shows that AFI is fully committed to safety and environmental issues and is at the forefront of the powered access industry in striving to improve standards in all aspects of our business.”
“Gaining FORS accreditation has also enabled AFI to seamlessly meet the requirements of the Construction Logistics & Cycle Safety Scheme (known as CLOCS) which is being adopted by a number of major contractors and construction companies. Designed to protect cyclists, itlays out requirementsfor traffic management both on and off construction sites for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes.
AFI safety and environmental initiatives for its vehicle fleets include telemetry systems to monitor driver performance, a commitment to purchasing low noise and low emission vehicles, a Careful Drivers Incentive scheme and a Fuel Efficiency Incentive scheme for drivers of its commercial delivery vehicles.
AFI operates about 100 delivery and service vehicles throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
